Cœur d’un Poète’s Update

Hi everyone! Happy Canada Day to my Canadian readers, and Happy Independence Day to our American friends!

After over a month’s hiatus, I’ve returned. Things have been getting busier for me over the course of the last month, which is why I haven’t posted in a while. I’m doing what I can to try and post new original content on a weekly basis, but that might be a challenge.

Let me know what you want to see on the blog. Please feel free to send me a suggestion for a poem theme, or tell me if you’d like to see some other creative genre. Either way, I’ll see what I can come up with.

Cheers!

Update – 03/22/2018

Hello to all! Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night, wherever you are on Earth. I hope you are all well.

I am truly grateful to everyone who’s decided to follow the blog. There are so many blogs like “The Writer’s Corner” out there and with all sorts of goals that it can be a bit of a challenge to build & maintain reader interest. I look at this like the amount of choices we have as consumers in this day and age: there are so many blogs out there trying to grab our attention that it can get hard to choose. Still, it gives me a lot of comfort to know that people enjoy the content enough that they want to get an update every month for every new poem that is posted.

The original purpose of the blog has been to make weekly postings of poetry every Sunday. Recently, I’ve decided (albeit slowly) to expand into story-writing. It’s still a work in progress for me. And yet, nothing in life ever comes to us so simply.

Someone I’ve known since I was young told me this: a blog needs to be super simple so that people can enjoy reading what you have. Judging by how the follower base has grown, I’d say I’ve managed to do just that in the last few months. With this being said, though, something within has compelled me to post every night since Sunday, March 11th. I hope you’ve enjoyed what’s been posted so far on a nightly basis and I hope to continue posting new content. However, I fear this current rate of production is unsustainable and that I might run out of ideas…

This being said, in order to sustain this production over the long run, I would love to hear from you. Let me know what you want to see on the blog, whether you’re enjoying the content on the blog (and if not, keep it constructive – We’re all human, here!). Also – and I can’t stress this enough – if you want to become a guest poster or a regular contributor, please feel free to contact me! I have a contact page on my website with a form you can use to reach out. My vision for this blog is that I’m not holding a monopoly on the posts. I would love to have other writers come and showcase their writing “brand” on “The Writer’s Corner”.

I would love to expand “The Writer’s Corner”, but the truth is that there are real-world commitments I have to keep, just as I’m sure there are commitments for you too. That being said, crossposting on each other’s blog is the easiest way to maintain content. If you follow me and post on “The Writer’s Corner”, I would be more than happy to reciprocate. I want to build a positive writing community around (and with) this blog. I hope you do too! We are all writers; we are all in this art together!

Thank you! I hope to hear from you soon!

Announcing “Follower Spotlight” Series

Hello!

I’m starting a new networking feature on the blog! It’s called “Follower Spotlight”! I want to put the focus on helping you grow your own blog’s follower base or that of a friend’s.

If you have a blog or know a friend with a good one, let me know in the comments and I will highlight their work on a monthly (for now) basis! Every month will see a new highlighted blog. If you would like me to repost (with your expressed permission) a creation from that blog, please let me know.

It’s all about you! As a thanks for following “TWC”, I would like to help you grow your reader base! Sound fair?

Happy holidays!

Hello everyone!

I hope your holidays have been great so far. I wish you many great moments with your families, as well as great health and success in the coming year.

Each year has it’s own challenges, but they are easier to overcome when we are with the ones we love.

I hope your Christmas / Hanukkah / Kwanzaa was fantastic, and I wish you all the best in the new year.

To TWC’s followers!

Hey there followers!

I hope you’re enjoying the content on the blog so far!
I’m wanted to open up the page to you, as I’m looking to write new poems using suggestions from you ladies and gentlemen (and those who don’t identify as either, of course!).
Give me an idea for a theme you would like to see written on a coming poem, and I’ll get to work on it. I will credit you for the idea!

Leave me a comment below with your idea! Let’s call this…Fourth Quarter Creations!
…cause, you know, we’re in the fourth quarter of 2017!

Terrible name? Okay, well, we can work on that too…

🙂

First Update – Off for a Month

Hey everyone! I figure I should try to give everyone an update on the processes for this site. I won’t do this often, but I will let you know what goes on, if there’s anything new or if there’s been any delay in new posts.

I’ve been off for a month doing adult things: working to earn my pay, working on improving myself as a person (also, dealing with some personal stuff), and most recently, having gone on a vacation. But now, I’m back, and I’m hoping to get back into my regular routine of posting poems. I just posted one, but I feel a little rusty, so I’ll have to work on it when I have the time. I appreciate everyone who still follows my blog and I’m hoping to reward your commitment and interest with more content.

Before going on hiatus (if you want to call that), I was mulling over adding a new french-language blog to the roster. I have the blog’s format ready to go with a few poems posted, but I haven’t made the blog available to the internet yet. It’s not like I have all the time in the world to do that – working by day in a field that does not involve writing poems or stories for a living is a slight deterrent to adding content in blogs that involve those things. Plus, Weekly Writing Prompts hasn’t been busy either, and I run these blogs solo, so it adds a lot to my plate. I’ve had to shave off a lot of things in my life just to maintain what I’ve already got, and it took a lot just to get back to this blog. Long story short, that other blog is stuck in the “development hell” phase, if you want to call it that.

Finally, as always, I’m still looking for help in running the blog. Because of what I mentioned earlier, I can’t necessarily run the blog alone, which by doing so will cause it to go silent for certain periods of time. But if you are or you know someone interested in helping run or just contributing to the blog, please send me a message at coeurdunpoete@gmail.com. I’m always happy to follow up with you regarding this and would love to grow the “team”. I wrote “team” like that because, obviously, it’s just me. But I hope that’s not going to be the case for much longer.

Keep writing!

CDP’s announcement: Weekly Writing Prompts

I’ve got some exciting news regarding our sister blog!

Ladies and gents, how are you?

I’m happy to announce that “The Writer’s Corner”‘s sister blog, “Weekly Writing Prompts”, is back up and running. My friend The Orange Marker and I have been busy with our own things but are now back and ready to go. I will continue to do some poetry for both blogs and do some cross-posting on occasion, but I will do my best to ensure both blogs have their own distinct identities.

I appreciate your continued support of TWC and hope you’ll be able to follow Weekly Writing Prompts (WWP) as well! And, as always, if you’re interested in guest posting for either blog, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Thanks!
